I mow about 5 acres a week with the tractor and a Woods belly mower. Last week it started sputtering on a pull with the pto on, I shut down the mower and put it in the garage (it continued to sputter). Figuring it was time for points, plugs, cond., wires and all I did that... fired right up and ran great for about 10 min. or around 150 degrees then shut down like I hit the button??? Buddy told me the coil will do that, so I replaced the coil... same thing. Figured maybe I was wrong in the first place and it was a fuel problem. Tank is clean, removed some residue from the bowl and flow is consistant, pulled, inspected and cleaned carb... jet looked fine... even made sure venting on cap was functional. Started right up... same thing!!! Re-gapped points @ 20ths and advanced the timing alittle today and it sounded great for 10 min. or so then shut off like someone turned it off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm at a loss and the field is getting pretty high.
