According to the first post, this is a 1991, which would be R-12. The R-12 fittings are 2 different sizes, to eliminate the possiblity of connection error, and when the adapters are installed for R-134, they are also different sizes, and the R-134 low side adapter fitting will only fit the R-12 low side Schrader port, so the chance for error is eliminated there, too. (The fitting, near the compressor in the photo, is the HIGH SIDE port. The LOW side port is in the LARGER low side line, near the accumulator, back near the firewall.) Almost without exception, the smaller line will be HIGH SIDE, the larger line LOW SIDE. Be smart, follow the rules, install the correct fittings, and then attach a label detailing what refrigerant has been installed, and what oil. This may well save a lot of grief later!
