When the scanner is hooked up,it completes a ground path that is missing.
Here's some grounds to check.
G100-LH top of engine under air cleaner assy
G101-top LH rear of eng. comp.near wiper mot.
G102-LH side of engine on transaxle
G103-lower LH rear of engine comp. on firewall
G106-front of RH inner fender-well
G114-LH side of engine
G115-Top LH side of engine
These grounds should be clean and tight
