They are bad here in Alabama this year. In fact I just finished up treatment for a bacterial infection that the Doctor thinks was due to a tick bite. The symptoms were a close match to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, but there are about 5 different things that you can get from ticks -- all of them very unpleasant. The CDC web site has a lot of info. I have started treating my work clothes with Permanone (aka permethrin) and I haven't found any more ticks on me. Rick
