1.By all means run it on kerosene, but you would need another tank. You could just run it on gas from the kero tank. 2. There are several reasons it might do that. The magneto might not be at the top of my priorities depending on fuel, mechanical and electrical integrity. If all you did was fuel, and tow it to get it running, then a good check over, of all the machine, would be top of my priorities. RAB
