Leave the mechanical centrifugal advance in place. All the elec switch does is to trigger n fire the coil when a magnet passes by a pickup coil the same thing as when the high cam lobe opened the points. The base plate the pickup coil is mounted on (same as the points) will then still rotate and change in position relative to the magnet fixed on the cam to advance the spark. On much more fancy n complex high performance automotive ignitions the computer senses the RPM and electrically advances timing but on our old tractors we still use centrifugal advance and/or vacuum To get the most bang for the buck and utilize all the advantages that elec switch can offer, I highly recomend you match it up with a high energy coil to replace the old stock coil also. CAUTION Dont forget to buy the switch to match the tractors polarity !!!!!!!! and have them match up the high energy coil also. John T
