I think he sold you a rebuild kit for the cost of the unit....check your receipt and see if it says vaporizer or vaporizer rebuild kit. Call him back, ask for the parts number for the vaporizer and also for the rebuild kit, check your receipt again. I doubt it was on purpose, mistakes happen. But I have seen that one before personally. I do the same as you, check ebay prices, online store prices and call local prices before I head out to buy stuff if I can. I will buy local as much as I can as long as it's within reason.
