Hi gang; County Commercial Cars of Fleet in Hampshire (mid south coastal area of England) started building crawlers based on tractors and half tracks on trucks in the early 1920's. They concentrated on conversions on Fordsons starting with the model N and continued until the mid-1980's with equel sized wheeled tractors. The 1st of these was based on the Fordson Super Major from 1960 onwards. This is about 1963 model 52HP 6f 6F & 2R gears. The drive was taken from a modified half shaft on both sides with the drive shafts running down the tractor sides to the front axle. High lugging performance but poor turning circle. Cheers David
