I have to agree with you, a number of things come to mind. You can't check the wter/acid so you can't keep tabs on how your changeing system is working when you only have an idiot light. Plus you can't add freash acid to the battery to get a few more months out of it when it is going south on you. Years ago J.C. Pennys had a forever battery with a life time warrenty well I had one and they never did replace as they should have when it went bad, they did give me a new battery when it went bad but it had a 3 or 4 year warrenty which I think was wrong they should be giveing me a new one every time it goes bad but that how life works.
