We are near granite quarries- and they buy Ford tractors to run large air compressors that run the drills. Later they sell these tractors with high hours, but no time on the driveline, other than the pto. In 1980 I bought a 1974 JD 4430 that was the farmer's corn dryer tractor- couple thousand pto hours, never had a plow on it. Currently has 10,800 hours, first engine, PS transmission, rear end, etc. Uses a pint of oil every 100 hr oil change.
