Ford oil filters -silly question

My son has a 7700 which takes a larger oil filter (2qt.)than my 5000 (1qt.) Would it be any advantage to use the larger one on my 5000 (along with additional oil)My thinking is that, with more oil in the system, that the oil would run cooler. Silly thinking ?????
