I live about 20 miles from Brandon, in Norfolk. My father used to work on Lakenheath on the maintenance crew for a company called Walter Lawrence. They built fences and repaired the site in general. Even got to work in the nuclear storage area.

Think it would be before your time though. He was there in the the mid 1970's.

This area had many US bases in the 1940's and 1950's. We had a Thor rocket site in our village.

Did not need any lighting in the houses. The lights from the perimeter fence used to light the whole arae at night!
