Flail mowers are good for cutting weeds and tall grass and they leave a fairly decent finish, not quite as good as a finish mower but still quite presentable. They are not good in brush, tho, but if all you have to cut is heavy grass and weeds, they are better than a brush hog since they leave a better quality cut.
