Man, that's weird.Try: remove dipstick when shutting down for day (put cap over tube). Next am, before starting, insert dipstick inch at a time, checking to see if touches oil anywhere in tube (if so, tube gunked up, not draining). If no oil before gets to oil in pan, leave dipstick out, have someone else start, watch tube to see how fast oil rises, and when does, work dipstick up/down/twisting...sounds like tube could be gunked up, not draining cold oil normally splashed ? on bottom of tube, probably helped by some blow-by pressure, but when oil hot/thinner drains ok. Could also, next oil change, try making something like pipe cleaner to clean out dipstick tube with little kero/diesel/gas dribbled in. May not help but easy enough to try. Good luck.
