We finished first cutting on Saturday and will start square baling second crop this afternoon. I'm not sure on the total bale count from first cutting but it's got to be in the neighborhood of 500 bales. I'd like to have a barn to store at least some of our better round bales in, we may try some tarps this year but for next year I'm looking into putting up a hoop building. I think I can put up a 30x60 hoop building up on 8' tall walls (will give it a 19' height for stacking bales three high) for around $5,000.
