Boy that sounds like the old 4010 that a buddys dad had , now i am no expert on the deeres but there problem started when a bearing went bad in the transmission and they had that tractor apart somany times even down to the point that they had it down to bare cases and cleand every inch of the insides and all lines new Hyd. pump , new steering and it worked fine for awhile then it started again and it was that way when he died and it was sold at the sale. It does not take much to screw up a hyd. system .
