If my memory is correct the 5900 was a unit produced in Mexico after Ford had updated its main models for the U.S. market. The 5900 used the older style sheet metal and had less advanced hydraulics. The engine and transmission designs were also from the older series. It was a bare bones model for those needing a lower cost tractor. I can't offer any insight regarding the quality of the UK/USA models versus the Mexican produced models.
