It wouldn't hurt to notify the local law enforcement about what you found. Take a couple of pictures and look for out of ordinary things that would have been done by original owner. oil filter with hours scratched on it, a replaced hose too long or odd color, a dent or large scratch, a weld repair, a too long of a bolt or wrong bolt, just something that was done by the previous owner, etc. If you don't hear anything within the next couple of months, forget about it.
