Hi Guys; This is the last model tractor that Allis built & sold in England in the 1960's. Design based on the US style D series - ED40 = English D 40HP. Fitted with Standard Motors 4 cylinder indirect injection 40HP diesel. 4F & 1R with hi & lo. Live huydraulics & PTO. Quite a big build compared to engine HP, high clearance for use with mid mounted hoes. They were not a commercial success in general sales, most used on root crop & vegetable farms in eastern side of Country. Allis's factory here then went on to building their very good ranges of Gleaner combines, small square balers & tedders, & grain drills. Cheers David
