I just built a set almost exactly as you describe. Mine are 16" wide, 9'4" long. I used 3" channel on each side (can't remember the pounds/ft, but it is the heaviest 3") and used 2" x 2" x 1/4" angle for the cross pieces on 10" centers with 3" channel for the bottom cross piece. I mounted the angle with the flanges resting on the lower flange of the channel (inverted "V") I've since used them to load a Bobcat S220 which is about the same weight range you mention. There was no noticeable flex in the ramps while loading. The ramps are heavy, but I can easily handle them alone. I'll try to get a pic & post when I get a chance. HTH,
