Lloyd, Ive had RV's over 30 years and none got the best TV reception on those crank up antennas but Im usually tryin to get away from all that stuff n never watched it much anyway. Usually the problem Ive found in poor reception is the connector or coax plug or whatever is up top where the lead in wire/coax connected to the antenna is corroded or bad. Of course, the rotator has to work to "point" at the station but even if all is well unless youre relatively close to a transmitting station, its not all that great cuz rememebr those RV antennas arent nearly as big (not as much signal gain) as a regular residentisl type antenna. As far as amplifiers, its still "garbage in equals garbage out" if the signal to noise ratio is poor (like far from a station or a weak antenna or poor connection) they are simply gonna amplify BOTH the signal and noise and dont yield much improvement in picture quality.
