what u have is carpenter bees, look just like bumble bees the ones u see flying are males they cant sting the females bore in the wood to lay eggs they go in a couple inches then turn they will destroy your wood. if its unpainted paint it with kerosene today and again tommorow u can add stain to the kerosene if u want. this will last a cpl years.
