OT: Van/trailer total load capacity

My bro wants to buy a van for his business where he hauls a trailer. Off hand I don't know the trailer weight but it is a small tandem used for hauling bricks (hes a brick mason)
We are looking at a 2003 GMC Savanna 2500 Cargo Van. Specs are:
GVWR= 7284 lbs
Curb weight= 4875 lbs
Gross trailer weight braked = 4490lbs
Max legal load = 2409 lbs We would like to know how much brick we can haul with this van / trailer The part where it says Max legal load is confusing me. Does that mean trailer and van or just van. I think it is just the van.
In which case we could put the difference between the trailer weight and 4490 lbs on the trailer.
