That's a great story! Thanks for elaborating. My grandfather farmed in southern Idaho and his place looked similar to what you describe. I remember he had 3 Ford N-series tractors. I grew up in Salt Lake City so all I ever knew about farming was my 2 or 3 trips a year to be grandparents' place. Now I live in the country and have an old Ford tractor so I have become more knowledgeable about them. I was looking at old photographs from my youth and there was a picture of my younger brother and sister sitting on a 6 cylinder Funk 2N Ford. I never realized before that one of granddad's N's was a Funk. So I started asking about it. It turned out that my aunt had bought it from her dad but decided it was a piece of junk so she traded it in on a new chinese tractor. I tried to trace it but the dealer is now out of business. I found the owner of the dealership and explained what I was looking for and why. He remembered the tractor and told me he sold it to a guy on contract: $200 down and $100/month for 2 years. They never heard from the guy again and never got another dime from him. They gave me his name and the addresses he had given at the time, but he's long gone. My aunt says I should be able to find it by listening carefully for someone cursing loudly!

Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
