Using the Wind

Here is idea that I have had for awhile but have not taken to the next step which might be to draw something out on a napkin. It is to use an ordinary windmill to power a piston or other type of refrigerant pump for a heat pump for heating and cooling. Another thing to power by the same method is an air pump used in oxygenation of a farm pond. In S.E. Nebraska it seems like there is often enough wind to drive a windmill but I do not know of any electrical wind farms there. Please share any info you have on this.
