Are you using a six or seven prong plug? Sometimes these can get corroded and need to be replaced. I have a number of the dual axle trailers and have to work on them often. If you get corrosion in the plug, either on the truck or trailer, you can get wires crossed so to speak. I had one awhile back that locked up when I put on the emergency flashers. Nothing difficult about wiring these things but they do require some tinkering from time to time. I have also noticed that sometimes trailers are not wired in a standard way and the plugs need to be reconfigured to match what is coming out of the truck.
