I once saw a flyer that said you needed to be especially careful of Yanmar, because of various knockoffs with the same name, and imported tractors that don't conform to the standards of the US. For example, the imports have substandard ROPS (if any at all), the PTO is built to work at several different speeds, far fewer safety shields, no overspeed clutches, and so on. There was more, but that's the executive summary (my fuzzy memory has lost some of the other details.) So... I suppose if you're not buying sight-unseen and it looks pretty normal, then I don't think I'd have a problem with it.
