I would do all that is said here and I would add one more thing. IF you have any wetlands on your land and you dont want it there then pump the water off and make it dry land. Quick story, in Michigan a few years back I heard of a guy that dug a pond on his land and 10 years later he was going to fill it back in and the government tree huggers fined him for filling in wetlands,....what a bunch of BS.
