Brian,here is how I mounted my winch,10000lb Warn winch that I purchased in 1992. The new 12000lb is the same as my old 10000lb. I always have a snatch block with me just in case! I have the same mounts on all 3 of my trailers, also can use winch in the easy lift reciever on my truck. Dual purpose unit. Hope this gives you some ideas.. Keith & Shawn
