Cub Shifter Problem

Did not get a responce on the Farmall page so thought I might throw my question out here. Just bought an International Cub. It has the bent style shift handle. The handle turns in the pivot. The pin in the pivot that located the handle and keeps it from rotating looks like it is welded in. The only way I see to remove the shifter from the pivot is a pin above the spring on the shifter rod. Has anyone had one apart? Thought I would ask before I did something I wished I had not ! Thanks in advance.
