Ive always been told the rim should be one number samll then the tire not counting the point behind the number. Or in other words a 13 inch tire on 12 inch rim and a 14 on a 13 inch etc. You could get by with the 14.9 but that is 2.9 inches wider then the rim so you would have a lot of tread for that size rim.
