Trailor brakes work with an electo magnet so one wire goes to the controller and the other one to a good ground. When I work on things like that I ground it in 2 or 3 places because ground love to get lost. I ground to the frame and also run a wire to the ground in the plug in on the truck and I some times even make up another ground that hooks to the truck frame with another plug
