Before you damage it more, check around for a radiator shop that still repairs gas tanks. If you can find one with a good 'ol boy who's been around for a while, it should be a simple repair for him, and it will get cleaned up well while it's there! The fitting will have to be resoldered, and the heat from that will make the remainder of the fitting come out easily. Don't try it yourself, and blow yourself up!
