I'm sure you will get other descriptions, but I would describe it as a hay fluffer — a machine with fingers to pick up and 'fluff' mowed but matted (alfalfa) hay, and let it lay it back on the ground but better aerated for drying. There are severl types, some use a reel device with fingers, others use several rotary type devices, kind of like a huge egg beater. Some can also double as a hay rake.
