I agree. They sure can look good and be gaped right and still not work. Take the wire off the points and touch it to ground, make sure you have good ground, over and over. See if you get spark on known good plug. If not then put a test light on the + side and do it again. If light goes out you have wiring troubles. If it stays lit, and you can verify the wire from the coil to the points is not shorted to ground, coils bad. My moneys is on a set of points that look like they working but are not. BTDT many, many, times. Usally the first thing I do is rotate engine to open the points, then short the points with screw driver to see if everthing else is working.
