I hear you loud and deep in my wallet. Today, in Montreal, gas was 1.03 a litre, and that includes taxes that are not in Ontario, and the stations are just a couple of football fields away from the east end Montreal refineries, and that price includes a Montreal environment tax and a public transport tax, which are together over .035 a litre alone. Later this afternoon, at Mont Termblant (60 miles N of Montreal, the same brand of gas was 1.099, and those special taxes are not charged there! Then, just across the border in Ontario, it was .969. Prior to last week's increase, gas was as low as .899 just across the river in Ontario. Go figure. Any way that you DO figure, the consumer is getting reamed big time (pun intended!!). Makes me wonder how long I will keep my Crown Vic, and worse, what to get to replace it?????????????.....QR..
