I know a fella that used one of those heavy John Deere one-ways on a 20-year-old patch when he was a youngster. Said he sunk 'er clear to the hubs as he was actually trying to kill the field. A three day rain came along right after he got done. The alfalfa sprouted out of the crowns and roots too. He told me that it came back double and he left the field for another 20 years. :>) Allan
