As I took that photo linked to on this page I can tell you a little about Emerson Brantingham, though you can find much more at http://members.aol.com/wb8jca/ebhome.htm. It was an American company based in Rockford, Illonois that grew to become very large before falling into severe financial trouble in the 1928 stock market crash, after which it was absorbed by Case. The company that became Emerson Brantingham developed from an agricultural machinery company started in 1852 by John H. Manny. They began tractor manufacture after purchasing the Gas Traction Company in 1912 and before producing the very lightweight 1922 Model AA 12-20 (made from 1918-25) shown in the picture they made several monsters, including the huge Big 4 Model 45, which was rated at 45-90. Shortly after Case took over EB they dropped the tractor line. The implements, however, formed the basis for many later Case products. The picture above was taken in 2004 at a tractor rally in Canterbury, New Zealand. I understand that there is at least one other EB in NZ. Incidentally, I would appreciate it if anyone linking to my images would use a text link to the page they're displayed on rather than a direct link to the image, as in the link below.
