I agree with all those saying, "Don't do it!" If your ROPS is certified, any structural modification whatsoever will void the certification and pose all sorts legal ramifications as mentioned by other posters. However, the biggest concern is your life. As a ROPS manufacturer, we hear of the tragic consequences of fitting homemade ROPS. It involves rigorous, destructive testing. We currently make ROPS for the Ford 3610. It is not folding. Our Engineer advises that on some Fords, there are hand brake issues that can be a bit tricky, in terms of mass production. If there is a significant demand for certified, OSHA approved, folding ROPS for the Ford 3600 and others, then Hercules ROPS will supply them to the US market. We welcome your feedback on this.
