Bigger machines are more apt to become stuck in wet conditions..Lighter is better here.. Bigger machines are made for heavy digging as in sewer lines , water lines , etc..Many large machines have had hammers or tampers used on them causing extreme wear on hydraulics , pins and bushings , etc..Smaller machines are more easily used in cramped areas.. Lighter trailer can be used for moving backhoe.. I made the mistake of buying for my first backhoe a Ford 5500. That pig got me in more trouble than not.. After that I got a 4 year old Ford 4500.. What a difference........
