Also remember all pumps are rated on theoretical displacement and rated GPM are at one speed which you will see if you use the formulas that were posted. Also hydraulic motors are rated the same way. Use 85% effeciency to do your calculations. Also how long are you going to be turning the PTO? Heat disapation will be a factor. Gear pumps and motors will have more pressure capacity and will cost more money. You will need at least 3 times pump output for reservoir size or a huge cooler plus you might still need a cooler since you are thinking of continous duty application while the PTO is running. Also what type of motor are planning on and have you calculated the horse power necessary. Remember hydraulic motors are rated in either inch pound or larger ones foot pounds of torque/ Your turn for questions?
