Our D-19 gas did not run all that hot. All though it is a good idea to have all guages working ours never ran hot. I think the hottest it ever got was about 180 if I remember correctly. The D-19 is a really good tractor. We use ours for unloading bales with a front end loader. Also we use it for carrying bales (when the fields are close) on the back and the front. Most of the time it is just used for pulling the rake though. We do disc the garden with it and it does fine. I would go with the D-19. But you have to look at the pros and cons to both tractors. A test drive is a good idea always. Just what I think.
