The state of Kansas is doing the same thing. Trying to get farmers and landowners to have larger areas around the fields. Also trying to get landowners to tear up the fescue and replant with native grasses. Guess the fescue is too dense for them to nest and get under for cover. My dad has done some of this and has seen an increase of bobwhite quail on his land as a result.
