Yes, they are the same. You may not need a bell housing from a dodge to get it to work. I have seen a lot of 3.9's on ebay mated to GM's TH400. There has also been a guy selling conversion kits on Ebay to mate a 3.9L into a Ford F150. I don't think he has one on there now, however. Good Luck.
