If the previous owner used non detergent oil it would cause a build-up on the walls inside the motor, and after a long time the motor insides would have a thick film of crud. Now you come along and put in detergent oil, and the oil is trying to clean the motor interior, putting this crud back in circulation. Just my 2 cents. Stan
