Pull the plugs and see if they look sooty(black, soft, fluffy type deposit). If so, lean out your carb because you're running too rich. If the plugs look wet and oily, you've lost oil control on the rings. Sometimes, adding Rislone or equivalent can loosen them, but I don't hold out much hope for that. Do a compression check (warm engine, wide open thottle, all plugs out) and if it low then it's time for rings.
