fuel question on MF35

I am trying to get all the air out of my 1962 MF 35 diesel, i changed the fuel filter and noticed 2 lines coming out of the filter and going to the injector pump, is one of those a return line?? i took the rear one loose and pumped the manual pump a good bit but it would still not wanna run over a few seconds, just wanna make sure i'm bleeding the right one or is there a fitting on the pump inself i need to loosen?
