We have good luck with setting up where the coyote has come from and then circling in front of the coyote to turn him around.
When he goes back there is a little piece of lead waiting for him.
Helps to have the wind in the right direction.
We've taken 29 coyotes within 2.5 miles of my house over the past two winters.
Most were taken with this method.
