Don"t know for sure, but I doubt that the compression would be any lower. Don"t know about the camshaft. The engine on the combine would be an industrial engine, and I think that is the same engine that was installed in the medium duty trucks when the 300 was specified. It is possible that the end of the crankshaft may not be drilled to accept the pilot shaft of a manual transmission.
