Ken, For more than 20 yrs now I have had 3/4s and heavy 1/2s, 4x4, under me. I have always aired down to 35 lbs when not trailering or carring big loads. Then air up to 65 when need. I have gottened as much as 55 to 65 K miles out of each set as a rule. On your 1/2 ton, 4x4 chevy i see now problem running 35 lbs while bobtailing around in no or light load situations. I have been doing it for 20+ yrs now. i currently have a set of 265/75R-16, load range Es. Best tires I have ever had to date. On my 97 F-150, 4x4, long box. Old girl had 302k miles on her now. I put on average 40 k miles/yr. Later, John A. OBTW...Check air pressures regulary! So you don't run one low, and ruin a tire.
